Almighty Prayer

“And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 John 5:15)

‘Sometimes a fog, Spurgeon wrote, ‘will settle over a vessels deck and yet leave the topmast clear. Then a sailor goes up aloft and gets a lookout, which the helmsman on the deck cannot get. So PRAYER sends the soul aloft, LIFTS it above the clouds in which our selfishness and egotism befog us and gives us a chance to see which way to steer.’
